Not sure how many lessons I have done with Vanessa but they have been game changing. Recently took my B2 exam and.....I passed! 80 out of 100 for speaking (and I even misunderstood the question ha). As a teacher, its so hard to find the balance between interrupting someone and letting them speak. Vanessa has the perfect balance for this. Here are some other things I love about working with Vanessa, - Grammar queen : She really does know all the technical components of the language. Its not just a chat, there is a real breakdown. - Writing review: When we review my writing, she offers new words, sentence structures, explanations. I have noticed that I am a better speaker because of this. - Hard work: She works so much (too much!) and therefore I really have a lot of days and times. This is great as I too need a lot of flexibility. She often sends me great material. I could write so much more, in summary - One of the best teachers on Italki, HIGHLY recommend.

Vanessa ist eine ausgezeichnete und engagierte Lehrerin. Ich lerne seit fast drei Jahren mit ihr und habe bereits über 30 Unterrichtsstunden genommen. Am Anfang lag mein Deutschniveau etwa auf B1. Damals unterstützte sie mich bei Bewerbungsunterlagen, Lebenslauf, Motivationsschreiben und Portfolio. Besonders schätze ich ihr klares, logisches Denken und ihre Fähigkeit, meine Formulierungen präzise und verständlich zu strukturieren. Auch auf Vorstellungsgespräche hat sie mich sehr gut vorbereitet. Heute hilft sie mir vor allem beim Hörverstehen, besonders bei Umgangssprache und schnellem Sprechen. Durch ihre Erklärungen und humorvollen Beispiele verstehe ich Modalpartikeln und Kontraktionen viel besser. Ihr Unterricht gibt mir klare Orientierung. Ich kann Vanessa daher uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Hello fellow students! I've been taking lessons from Vanessa for more than two months. I highly recommend her to you. She has helped me progress in the language and I'm happy with how far I've come from not knowing any Gernan two months ago to where I am now. What I really want to post about though is how much I've struggled with feeling self-conscious actually speaking in German and how great Vanessa has been with me in that regard. I have been so nervous about speaking that I've frozen up during a lesson but Vanessa has been so kind and understanding. Taking lessons from her specifically is helping me to overcome this. She has been empathetic and has gently helped me see mistakes as a fun part of language acquisition; because of this I have been able to continue learning. With a less perceptive teacher I might have felt too embarrassed to keep taking lessons. I am thankful.

She’s a great teacher with incredible knowledge of German. She’s a native speaker but understands why other people make mistakes based on their mother tongues. She speaks several languages which makes it easier to learn from her. I’ve been working with her for almost 4 years. She’s the best teacher I have had so far. I recommend her to anyone, you won’t regret it.
