Since I was very young, I have been a speaker in philosophy, ethics, and others. So oral or written communication has always been my strong point. Academically I have studied as a professional philosopher and as a language teacher, especially in Spanish and Portuguese. Before I started working at the Universities UPB and Luis Amigo, both in Medellín, I managed conversation and grammar clubs for foreign Spanish students. Since 2013 I began to teach Spanish professionally at the UPB, and I'm currently in that work. In addition to this, I have studied diploma courses and participated in training activities with the Cervantes Institute and other institutions.

The first thing that you should know is that I am very patient and a hard-questions fan. It does not bother me at all to suspend my plans to satisfy the curiosity of my students, be it about grammar, culture, vocabulary, expressions, etc. I love to innovate, so I am always willing to listen to respectful criticism, suggestions, and comments. I'm each day looking to be a better professional, and it bothers me not to give the best of me. It doesn't matter if your level is basic or null since we can start our process from 0 with essential communication functions, questions, and answers of personal information, description of the environment, and activities. I focus my methodology on communication, so the objectives are the first thing I show. Communication is the center, and grammar is a tool to achieve it. In my lessons, we will never see grammar without applying it practically, always looking for scenarios in which we can use what we learn in each lesson. I'm a foreign service officer and I needed to prepare for my official Spanish exam. Jose was excellent - punctual, engaging and well informed on politics, culture and current events. His grammar explanations are thorough and effortless. Thanks to my lessons with Jose, I had no problems passing my test. Highly recommended for people working in the government and NGO sector.
