Adapto mi método de enseñanza a mis alumnos. Los alumnos tienen expectativas diferentes y yo intento averiguarlas. Pido a mis alumnos que me den su opinión y les dejo elegir el material; intento tener una clase equilibrada, gramática, conversación, preguntas y respuestas, juegos y hablar, leer y escribir libremente.

TeacherI was teaching in an elementary school and this gave me the possibility to explore many group games and improve their language skills with games and activities. I teach a lot of kids on italki and this offline experience helped me to create flexible learning plans for them.

TeacherI was preparing elementary, middle, high school students and adults for Goethe institute exams, iGCSE German exam, integration exams for moving to another country, MIKA test, and German international schools and was as well teaching conversation, grammar, writing, listening and reading.

TeacherIn a tribal village of the Lahu tribe near Maesalong right on the border to Myanmar I was teaching English. It was really challenging, but helped me to get experience teaching kids with almost no material apart from a blackboard and white chalk.

TeacherIn a small village called Nawalpur in Sindhupalchowk District in Bagmati Province of central Nepal I was teaching English in an elementary school. The area was occupied by the Maois guerilla at that time. There was no running water and electricity and during the rainy season there was water in the classroom. The kids were eager to learn and very attentive. In the afternoon there came some students and asked me to help them with their homework. Some of them brought corn and vegetables as payment.
2000 - 2001
TeacherWhile I was working with an NGO called Magres in India, I was as well teaching English in a tribal village in the forest in the Palani hills, Tamil Nadu in India. It did not only spark my interest in teaching, but showed me a way of getting in touch with other cultures through teaching. You give back to the community, it gives you a place in the community.

TeacherTeaching in an elementary school helped me to understand what Korean kids, teachers and parents expect from a teacher. This is important especially when teaching people of different backgrounds, because expectations do not only vary indivdually, but as well from culture to culture. The learning experience of students is important and needs to be addressed and considered.

Alex is an incredible teacher with deep knowledge of both the German language and culture so you'll actually sound natural, not like you're reading from a textbook. I came in with zero German knowledge and still kept up. If you have ADHD like me and find yourself zoning out or struggling to stay engaged, Alex is genuinely great at reading the room and keeping things interesting before your brain has a chance to wander off! 🙌
