Ángeles

What I love about lessons with Ángeles is that we are having an actual conversation, and she is interested in what I have to say, even as she helps me to say it. Meanwhile, we are refining my grammar and expression—currently, constructions with the present and imperfect subjunctive, as well as preterite/imperfect and ser/estar—and having fun while doing it. I highly recommend working with her.

Ángeles is such an amazing, fun and dynamic teacher. I was hesitant in taking classes at first because I wanted to learn the language all by myself. But then I knew I made the right choice. Ángeles not only taught me Spanish for 3 months, but she also made me feel understood. She said the right words every time I doubted myself. I love her human approach and I really believe she is meant for teaching. It was also particularly important for me to learn both Argentinian Spanish and Spanish from Spain as I wanted to communicate with my Argentinian family in law, but at the same time I was also planning to move to Spain. Before taking the classes, it felt all so confusing and complicated. Ángeles dedicated time to explain it and integrated it seamlessly in our lessons. Now I can juggle between the two and adapt my Spanish depending on who’s my interlocutor! In addition to that, I just passed the B2 SIELE exam and I am now moving to Spain. Thank you Ángeles, you helped my dreams come true!

Ángeles is a great teacher! She is very energetic and encouraging. She is very patient with my sloooooow learning process and pushes me to new levels of improvement each week. She is also very good at pushing me outside of my comfort level (just the right amount) so that I learn more and more. Additionally, she is good at asking questions and carrying the conversation so I can practice without having to do that mental lift as well. She remembers things about my friends and family from week to week and is good about asking about them. My time with her is never a waste, she is great at working in teaching moments into our conversations. I feel like learning with her is a more natural way to learn the language!

Tomé clases de "text correction" de uno de mis diarios de viaje. No solo recibí correcciones de errores, sino también muchas notas y razones detalladas sobre el vocabulario y la gramática, que me ayudan a mejorar. Ahora, puedo comparar mis frases con la forma correcta y al mismo tiempo tengo comentarios muy cualificados. Tengo todo eso de forma escrita, significando que es muy completo. Puedo compartir mis experiencias de un viaje y me encantan mucho las clases con Ángeles.

Me gusta mucho tener lecciones con Ángeles. Ella me ayuda a hablar mejor que nunca. Ella corrige suavemente y se asegura que entiendo la gramática. Pero es más que eso—ella es amigable y simpática, entonces podemos platicar y reírnos como amigas. Es una buena manera de disfrutarme mientras entiendo.
