Grete Maidla

I am very happy to have classes with Grete. She is very helpful and patient and the classes pass pleasantly. I am surprised that after a few lessons I can have a short conversation at the beginning of class.

I’ve very much enjoyed my talks with Grete in the last two months. We have covered an array of topics about Estonia or around the small but often confusing and even humorous differences between Estonian and my native Finnish languages. For practical reasons I’m having a summer break now, but I am very much looking forward to carrying on with Grete in the autumn!

Ma õpin midagi uut kui ma käin vestlusetundis Gretega. Me räägisime eesti kultuurist, sõnavarast, igapäevast vestlust, ja natuke grammatikast. Ta on väga kannatlik, viisakat, posiitivne ja hea suhtleja. Ma soovitan õppida temaga. Suur tänu.

I really like the order in which Grete organizes the learning materials. It makes much sense and creates a nice step-by-step learning process. Grete addresses all my needs and happily answers all my questions. I'm enjoying learning Estonian with Grete.

Grete reminds me of how I started teaching (I have been teaching for 5 years - started tutoring online). She has a lot of enthusiasm for Estonian and supporting her learners. She gives explaination and correct mistakes when necessary. She found very interesting articles to read and provide interesting prompts for written exercise,

I had a good experience with her, speaking Estonian directly from the first lesson. Even though my level is beginner (probably not even A1), she made sure that I could understand her all the time. We switched to English only when it was really necessary. Also, she gave me feedback on how I could say things in a way that is proper Estonian, and not an educated guess from Finnish.
