Tomomi-sensei always chooses learning materials and exercises that match my Beginners level. She writes hiragana and romaji versions of words and phrases which helps me to read and speak. Her speech is slow and clear, and thank goodness she speaks perfect English! Highly recommended.

Each lesson with Tomomi-sensei is enjoyable and instructive. She is extremely patient, and always encourages me to persevere. As Tomomi-sensei is a fluent English speaker she explains things in my first language, which is a huge help at this early stage of my language journey. I think students of every level of proficiency would enjoy classes with Tomomi-sensei.

Tomomi sensei guides me through the grammar, patiently explaining and allowing me to read and practice. She encourages me to ask questions, and I always learn so much!

In today's lesson Tomomi-sensei used Hiragana flashcards, lessons from the Genki textbook, and examples of key sentences and grammatical constructions in Hiragana, Romaji and English, on a shared Google document. Although some elements of what we covered today were challenging, especially telling the time in hours and minutes, Tomomi-sensei makes each lesson fun. Her patience and gentle encouragement helps me to feel confident enough to respond in Japanese. Her English is perfect, which is a real plus for a Beginner like myself. I highly recommend Tomomi-sensei as your next Japanese teacher!
