Welcome to my teacher profile!
My name is Bálint, I'm 23 years old, and I'm from Hungary.
I'm studying to become a teacher of English and Portuguese.
I have been teaching Hungarian and English for 6 years now, and I can say that I have a lot of experience when it comes to teaching these languages.
Along with that, I've also just started working at a language school, teaching Portuguese.
I'm obsessed with Brazil and Brazilian culture. I like to think of myself as a self-proclaimed cultural ambassador of Brazil of some sorts, given that I always do my best to share a little bit of my love when it comes to Brazilian gastronomy, culture, music etc.

Soy una profesora bastante juvenil, así que me gusta mucho incorporar memes y elementos culturales contemporáneos a nuestras clases.
Creo que cuando aprendemos un idioma, en realidad no sólo lo estamos aprendiendo. Estamos aprendiendo elementos culturales, tradiciones, a veces incluso una forma de pensar completamente nueva.
Durante nuestras clases, me aseguraré de guiarte a través del interminable laberinto de la cultura húngara, introduciendo coloquialismos y frases útiles que utilizamos en nuestra vida diaria.
Creo que es importante animar siempre, ya que esto puede aumentar nuestra motivación para seguir aprendiendo incluso cuando no sentimos que estamos progresando.

For teaching Hungarian from 0, I like starting with PowerPoint presentations in order to introduce you to the world of Hungarian, after which we are going to use a book.
For people who are more advanced, I will offer conversational lessons, making a PowerPoint presentation revolving around a certain topic and holding a conversation with you about it.
During the lesson, I might spontaneously show you memes and songs depending on the context of what we are learning.Mi material didáctico

And just like that, it's been a whole academic year of learning Hungarian with Bálint. He shows the same enthusiasm as in the first lesson, which motivates me to keep going. We always start with a bit of conversation (he always helps me find the words, of course!) and then we move to grammar/vocabulary exercises. Bálint is very patient and kind. It's a long ride, the one of learning Hungarian, but Bálint makes it fun!

Bálint is a good teacher. Patient and friendly, we used the MagyarOK book for lessons, and he always shared great tips about hungarian culture. We also practiced speaking about daily topics which is great.
