Nessma Hassan

Nessma helps me so much to speak the Egyptian Arabic language and to really hone in on the concepts that I don't understand well so that I can make the correction and use the phrase or sentence structure correctly the next time. It has been such an amazing experience working with her for over a year. Her grace and understanding and patience when I sometimes ask her to explain the same concept over again is astounding. She understands English exceptionally well and always tries to convey what the Arabic meaning would be in English so that it can be contextualized for my understanding. She truly is the best Arabic teacher I've ever had and am so privileged that I can learn from her multiple times a week.

Nessma is a brilliant, engaging, well-organised and supportive teacher. Her English is perfect, and her learning resources are super helpful. I look forward to continuing my learning with her.

I had been absent for 2 months because of other commitments. Neesma was very gracious and helpful in the book and material review to get me back into learning Arabic.

I took about 10 Arabic lessons with Nessma before going on vacation to Egypt. Nessma is an amazing teacher! She is kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and really goes above and beyond for her students. Nessma helps me to understand the nuances of particular verbs and when to use them such as the difference between two different verbs both meaning "confuse" in Arabic. This is helpful since this does not happen as often in English and Arabic is very nuanced. She also helped me speak about things that I personally would use very often such as teaching. She always makes our lessons very personal. She helped to answer questions I had in the Kallimni Arabi book as well and this helps to hear other speakers and gain insight into very common speech in Egyptian Arabic as well. I look forward to our next lesson.

Nessma helped me understand a lot of the concepts from the book Kallimni Arabi and some of the expressions that are more commonly used today versus in the past and also phrases that are more common in MSA. We talked about our language learning journeys and she encouraged me to read more and listen to the audio tracks at the same time. I think this will really help me improve my speaking abilities. I feel like I'm understanding more and more each day.
