Hi! I'm Nessma, a passionate language teacher.
Outside of teaching, I’m someone who loves languages, cultures, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I have a deep passion for linguistics and enjoy learning new languages myself—I’m currently exploring German, Turkish, and French! In my free time, I love reading, especially about mythology and history, and I also have a keen interest in fitness and healthy living. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I’m always looking for new ways to grow and challenge myself. I’ve been teaching languages for years, helping students from all over the world improve their Arabic (both Egyptian and Standard) and English. My teaching journey started in 2019, and since then, I’ve worked with learners of all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced speakers.

Today, I had my first Arabic lesson with Nessma on italki, and I am thoroughly impressed. Nessma demonstrated outstanding teaching skills and a deep understanding of both the language and the learning process.

Nessma gave me some examples of the past tense in Arabic and had me complete several fill in the blank sentences and that was just what I needed to learn these verbs in their various conjugations in many different contexts. She also helped me correct the conjugations I had completed at home and I feel a lot more confident using the past tense now.

I took about 10 Arabic lessons with Nessma before going on vacation to Egypt. Nessma is an amazing teacher! She is kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and really goes above and beyond for her students. She customized the lessons to exactly what I needed to know for my trip. I would recommend her to anyone. 'Alfi shukr Nessma!

Nessma corrected a story I wrote and helped me to understand some of the concepts and constructions of the expressions I used. She also helped me understand the idafa construction or how to formulate sentences when they have two or more nouns combined. It was really helpful to break it down into a bunch of different scenarios of sentences where you would see this construction and I feel a lot more confident about it. I'm excited to do my homework which is to write this same story again using the correct grammar and meet with Nessma next week to review it. I'm also excited to learn more about the past tense next week.
