Me llamo Cameron y tengo 36 años. Soy de Sudáfrica, donde me licencié en Educación. Me encanta estar al aire libre, por eso mis aficiones son la pesca y el buceo. Me apasiona la enseñanza. Lo mejor de la enseñanza es que puedes formar mentes jóvenes y ayudarles a desarrollar todo su potencial. Creo que las clases deben ser divertidas porque si son aburridas los alumnos no recordarán las lecciones y no querrán seguir aprendiendo. Aunque intento que las clases sean divertidas, sigo presionando a mis alumnos para que alcancen su potencial porque, al fin y al cabo, tienen que ser capaces de utilizar lo que han aprendido. Mi estilo de enseñanza se basa en ayudar y guiar a los alumnos por el camino correcto en lugar de hacerles repetir lo que yo digo como un loro. Dependiendo de su nivel, empezaremos con fichas y objetos para mejorar su vocabulario. A medida que progresen haremos frases cortas y a partir de ahí intentaremos tener una conversación en la que pueda ayudarles con su gramática y pronunciación. Si les pongo deberes será algo que puedan aprender y utilizar en su vida diaria, por ejemplo les diré que elijan un plato que les guste hacer y que luego escriban una receta en inglés o afrikáans para que me digan cómo se hace. Quiero que sean los alumnos los que hablen.Mi material didáctico

Cameron is such a fantastic teacher. I love that, from the beginning, he has pushed me to construct complete sentences and have full conversations. His classes are dynamic and usually involve a bit of speaking practice and grammar/vocabulary, though he always shifts gears to accommodate how I'm feeling on a given day. I was starting from 0 with Afrikaans, but his teaching style has made learning a new language feel approachable. Absolute 10/10!

Another great lesson with, Cameron! We just had organic conversation, and even though my Afrikaans speaking skills aren’t where I want them at the moment, I’m noticing I’m understanding a lot more in context to what Cameron says to me in Afrikaans. Progress is slow and steady, but I’m hopeful to get to a point of holding a decent conversation without assistance in the near future. Baie dankie, Cameron, Totsiens!

Had an amazing first lesson with, Cameron! He was super patient and talkative the entire time. We shared plenty of laughs as we conversed between English and Afrikaans. He makes every bit of the conversation by finding ways to implement a teachable moment. He’s encouraged me when I had moments of second guessing my pronunciation or confusing between words. I’m looking forward to continue with his style of teaching. Baie dankie, Cameron!! ☺️
