I have just completed over 100 lessons with Mika-san! I think this is a testament to just how good a teacher she is. When I started I knew some words and grammar from using Wanikani and Bunpo but I couldn't string a sentence together. Mika never judged or got impatient as she got to know me she came up with lessons to get me speaking and I think my speaking has improved dramatically because of her. She really wants to help her students improve and that passion she has really makes me want to improve. I am so glad I picked her to be my tutor when I started this journey and I can't recommend her enough. I'm already looking forward to my 1000th lesson.

I was really nervous going in, as, despite studying Japanese for two years, I had never had a single Japanese conversation. Mika sensei is friendly, put me at ease straight away and patiently tried to understand what I was trying to say :D I had a lot of fun talking about our shared music tastes, and recommend her for any fans of 80s J-pop. Looking forward to our next lesson!

She was really helpful, and she helped me with my pronunciation if I messed up and was patient with me and she is just a great teacher overall.

I have been practicing Japanese with Mika San for almost almost five months and all I can say is that the lessons are amazing. Mika San gave me a lot of prompts and time to talk about what I’d like to talk and intervened only when needed, not interrupting my thinking, which is what beginners need when practicing oral conversation. She was very patient and marked down how I could improve in a file for my reference. Thanks to her feedback and practice, I was able to go from not being able to construct a Japanese sentence to being able to ask for tax refund procedures in Japanese during my trip to Tokyo. Highly recommended!
