라온 (Raon)

Today's lesson consisted of reading an article in Korean and then discussing the topics in the article. I very much enjoyed this format because it not only allowed me to practice my reading but allowed me to engage with the material in Korean and formulate my own thoughts about it. As always, I especially appreciate that 은희 선생님 encourages and gives me the time to try to formulate my thoughts, even if it takes a few tries and a few pauses. It also made me think about a new topic I had never considered in this way before :) I never enjoyed literature class during school because I thought I already knew everything the text was telling me because I understood the words. But now, learning a new language, I am starting to see how important it is to spend a few more minutes trying to understand the intent of the author, not just the words. This discovery is only motivating me more to read an entire book in Korean one day! 선생님께서 이런 모티베이션을 해주셔서 너무 감사합니다!!

As always, so kind, so patient, so easy to engage with.

Teacher was quickly able to asses my level and areas for improvement and challenged me to try talking more which is my main goal. Look forward to improving!

라온 선생님 최고예요! 라온 선생님의 teaching style is great for anyone who truly wants to learn Korean and is ready to put in the effort. She’s very professional and kind, and she knows how to push you out of your comfort zone in the best way. She always encourages you to keep going, even when things get a bit tough. And even if you think you wouldn’t be able to understand a sentence in Korean, you’ll be amazed by how much you actually understand by the end of each lesson. I genuinely recommend her with all my heart. 감사합니다, 선생님! 앞으로도 재미있는 수업 함께 해요. 💛

곧 한국에 가서 조금 긴장됐는데, 선생님과 함께 다양한 상황에서 뭐 해야 하고 어떻게 말해야 할지 연습해 보니까 마음이 가라앉았어요. 이렇게 준비하는 것을 도와주셔서 정말 감사합니다!!
