Hugh Luo-Tatebe

Hugh is incredibly friendly, perceptive, and intelligent. I have found he is able to customize the lesson to your needs effortlessly and with great skill, no matter how unconventional they might be. And he does so with clarity and a great sense of organization. He is truly bilingual in Japanese and English, which means you can communicate with true nuance in both languages. I think Hugh is terrific to work with, and I'm sure you will feel the same.

Hugh-san specifically prepared today’s lesson for my learning needs- today we learned a lot of sentences that don’t come up in textbooks. By doing sentence translations, I am forced to think about what I would say in everyday situations. Thanks a lot for the effort you put into (and before) our classes! I would highly recommend Hugh as a teacher

Enjoyed today’s lesson. It was comfortable and informative; I learn so much more having a human to talk to as opposed to an app. It had a good level of difficulty and it was catered toward the day-to-day conversations I would have. I also had all of my questions answered (yay).

This time, Hugh and I had a very productive session where we were able to shed light on the problems I've been having with my output (from 10 years of shoddy/misinformed self study on my part). He's extremely good at thinking on his feet and provides a very productive environment. If, like me, you're looking to brush up or rehabilitate your Japanese he comes highly reccomended.

We covered more ground expanding vocab and phrases for small talk and introduction scenarios. Always a pleasure working with Hugh San. Great teacher and willing to help in whatever capacity you need. どうもありがとうございます
