Tom Lee

Honestly I can say that after taking many many many lessons with Tom DAILY, this is probably one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my life — period!! I cannot recommend him enough, he is so kind, compassionate punctual. He makes learning so fun and I can genuinely say that it has been a pleasure to be his student. His teaching method for learning languages is by far one of the most practical and hands on approaches. I never thought I would have learnt the amount I learned. And I never even did any of the homework 😂. He paces his lessons to suit his students. He takes so much notes during lessons. The study material is always centred around your life so you really learn vocabulary you would use in real life. I can’t recommend him enough.

Some people are just born to teach. Tom has a gift for sure. Tom offers a perfect balance of instruction, patience, encouragement, and humor.  -He uses both Korean and English in class -he types notes for you as you go -homework easily fits into busy schedules -you learn so much without realizing it -He can easily sense when you don't understand and may need additional examples -He can also sense when you are having an off-day and need less pressure. -classes are a joy and will quickly become the highlight of your week.   I am thankful I put the self-teaching attempts down and took a chance. Learning a language is hard. Having someone to walk beside you that genuinely cares about your success makes it easier.

Excellent lesson as always! After only a few lessons, I definitely feel like my Korean has improved a lot. When I watch Korean shows, I feel like I'm at the level where I can point out the parts where the Korean dialog differs from the English subtitles (whereas prior to lessons with Tom, I was still at the stage where I had to rely on subtitles).

I’ve taken with with Tom for a little bit now and he’s really helped boost my confidence in Korean! I’ve studied Korean for a while so I know a lot but don’t know how to utilize it. He’s helping me put it into action and explains things clearer than I’ve ever learned them! The best Korean teacher I’ve ever had! 감사합니다 톰쌤!

Great class reviewing sentence translations and talking about cooking and kitchen appliances! Tom ususally has some interesting information about Korea he uses for our conversation session in the class. He also has good remcommendations for shows to watch (or not watch!) on Netflix. :-) Always a good time! He's also really helping me with my pronunciations.

Fun session discussing Thanksgiving meals. I asked Tom to help me choose a meal for the holiday from three meals that I had. It felt good to do it in Korean and actually know how to form the sentences. Although I stutter a bit through them, Tom is very encouraging. He then asked me to help him pick out his lunch! I went for the 자짱면!! 너무 맛있어요! We then started working throug present progressive sentences (Eng to Korean) and then next week I will translate 'can/want to' sentences. It's such great review and helps me retain and recall vocabulary. Love the lesson style.
