Kanako

I have been learning with Kanako Sensei for the last 6 months, starting from zero. My experience with Kanako has been excellent and I would highly recommend her to anyone that wants to learn Japanese in a fun, effective and personable way. She's been extremely attentive to my needs and pace, and very responsive to any questions, challenges and interests that I have. We have been using Genki as a guideline, but we often focus on specific topics that interest me, or go back to areas where I want to dive deeper. I now feel confident enough to have some conversations here in Japan, and everything that I have learned has always been contextualised with where I live and what I do, which makes it so much easier on my day to day life in Japan. It has been a great journey, and I am very grateful to have found such a wonderful teacher!

Kanako-san has helped me immensely with improving my Japanese. I always look forward to our conversations every week. She is not only an outstanding teacher, but a kind, thoughtful and wonderful person. Kanako-san is a very patient and thoughtful teacher. She always plans lessons in advance, including questions and topics for our conversation practice, and follows up with careful notes, feedback, and plans for the next lesson. She has a very kind and gentle personality. She consistently but gently corrects my grammar and vocabulary, and provides suggestions to "level-up" my Japanese in real time during our conversations. Kanako is such a wonderful teacher! She's always willing to spend some time making sure that you understand. Her personality is so kind which makes learning from her easy! She loves to just learn about you in a lovely and genuine way. Each lesson is well thought out and paced well too. Kanako also sends personalized feedback after each lesson which helps reinforce what was learned and what was missed. If you take lessons from her you won't regret your decision. I'm beyond glad that I chose her as my tutor and I am always excited for the next lesson.

I am very grateful that I found Kanako 先生. She is always very patient and encouraging. Whenever I have difficulty forming sentences, she will ask questions and provides hints that prompt me to think further. With her as my teacher, I gain confidence in speaking Japanese. Taking her lessons makes me feel safe and reassure, that it's always ok to make mistakes. What amazes me always, was that whenever I have question on certain grammar structure, Kanako 先生 will always almost instantly retrieve useful and appropriate contents/ppt slides that she has prepared on her own, to answer my questions. Her explanation is always so clear and precise that I could understand it right away. Another area which im grateful for, is that Kanako 先生 will always painstakingly jots down notes and sent it to me for revision purposes after each lesson. That is something that goes beyond her call of duty. I'm so glad I have Kanako 先生 as my teacher. Will continue to take her lessons.

Kanako sensei is a patient teacher who never rushed through explanations, and is always willing to repeat or explain until things are clear. No question ever felt too simple and this has helped build knowledge of Japanese over the few lessons we had. Lessons always felt welcoming with Kanako sensei.
