Yoyo simply put is one of the most amazing Chinese teachers there is. I've been a student of hers since 2020. Her materials are completely customized. She prepares a PowerPoint in advance, which is very uncommon for many other Mandarin teachers on the platform. Her expansive knowledge of the Chinese language combined with excellent class preparation makes for an enjoyable class every time. A unique characteristic about her online classes is that there are set-time assignments done in class. Traditionally assignments would be done before class, they would be corrected in or out of class to discuss. In Yoyo’s class, she will allot maybe 15 minutes to write a summary, translate, or prepare something else, and then when the time limit is over, you discuss. It’s extremely helpful in helping improve translation and writing skills, as you get immediate feedback while everything you typed is still fresh in your mind. Please do yourself a favor and take Yoyo's class. She's really the best!

I really wish I had found Miss Wu years ago. Even as a heritage speaker, I've been confused about Cantonese tones for years. It didn't help that tutors would just repeat the same tones over and over again. A 30 min lesson with Miss Wu made everything clear for me. She connected the Cantonese tones to English & Mandarin tones, and even clearly explained the difference between tones based on their origin. The slides were also visually attractive and clear, and at just the right level of difficulty - hard enough to provide challenge, but also doable enough to provide a sense of accomplishment and fun. :)
