Maria

Maria is a great teacher, time flies during the lessons. Athough she can easily explain almost everything on romanian, in those very rare cases when it's needed resort to another language, her perfect French comes in handy !

Maria is awesome! We talked about different dialects and regions of Romanian and Romania, plus regionalisms and cultural differences we’ve observed in the Romanian diaspora in other European countries. We both have a passion for linguistics and plan to talk more about this in the future. Îți mulțumesc, Maria pentru o discuție interesantă și deschisă în scopul său! 😄

Maria proposes a beautiful range of cultural topics that are all cognitively interesting to me when she shares articles and videos — and she also checks to make sure that my enjoyment and learning are lining up well with her ideas for topics to unpack in our sessions. Her approach is awesome! 😄

I loved today’s session with Maria! She sent me a video on a cultural topic that I found absolutely fascinating (#brânzaregelui) and we had an awesome discussion about it. Maria was complimentary of my pretty advanced Romanian, but was equally interested in helping me feel comfortable isolating and understanding my patterns of mistakes. I felt like I had both the ability to speak copiously and the support and patience to show my understanding of her questions and the video’s content. I deeply enjoy Maria’s presence and openness. She’s a skilled and excellent teacher! 😄

I reached out to Maria hoping to increase my confidence when speaking Romanian. I'm a Romanian "third culture kid" who speaks Romanian as a native language, but studied in English all my life, which led me to feel a bit disconnected from my native culture and language. Maria was very knowledgable and reassuring about this kind of situation, and I really enjoyed my conversation with her. She is definitely well-equipped to help advanced Romanian speakers refine their skills. I look forward to my next lesson with her!
