Vincent Shin

Vincent was so patient as I practice reading the Korean alphabet. I get confused with some vowel sounds, but he gave me lots of examples and tips. I always enjoy our class.

This was my first lesson on italki and I was a bit nervous at first, but Vincent was very kind and I soon lost my nervousness. He is definitelly a great teacher and I recommend him to anyone learning Korean.

Vincent was an amazing teacher from day 1. He provided an introduction to the written language using a symbolic system that differed from all the metaphor systems I see online. It helped me internalize the alphabet a bit faster. He walks through a book which is freely available online, but provides valuable colloquial insight and pronunciation guidance. He was also a nice guy and fun to talk to! I'm happily exploring Korea now and using our lessons on the day-to-day.

Starting as a total beginner, Vincent has been phenomenal in answering my endless questions and is great at explaining things in a way that really makes sense. He's great at using different comparisons so that I can have a genuine understanding of the language. I'm only 3 lessons in so far, but already feel so much more confident with learning such a difficult language. Looking forward to more lessons!

Looking forward to more lessons with Vincent, he’s a great teacher. Not only teaches about the language, but gives very relevant cultural context which is greatly appreciate by someone who doesn’t know Korean culture at all!
