Laura Cavazzani

Laura is an excellent teacher. Knowledgeable, completely trilingual in Portugues, English and Spanish and able to 'scaffold' the student's knowledge to allow conversations to flow while leaving notes for the student to study after the lesson; that is, the lesson itself is not all that one benefits from Laura's conversations. I have worked with many very good ITalki tutors. Laura is one of the very best. She is a pleasure to work with and advances the student's language knowledge. I highly recommended Laura to any level of language learner.

Laura is an amazing teacher! I had many teachers before her but I didn’t feel like my Portuguese was improving, but since having classes with Laura, I can see a huge difference! I don’t translate from Spanish into Portuguese anymore, I just speak in Portuguese without translating in my mind! I feel much more confident speaking now and it’s all thanks to Laura ☺️ she creates a really safe environment where I have lost my fear of making mistakes ☺️ obrigadaaa 🥰

Laura speaks English so as a native English speaker I found it difficult and a little frustrating to get started with the barriers. I tried several teachers and found it much easier to begin with someone who I can clearly understand. She doesn’t just tell me muito bem when I say things wrong. Laura has been so patient and kind. She is structured and nudges me along even when I feel I’m scared to move on. It’s baby steps learning Portuguese as a more mature person. But, I appreciate her expertise and trust her approach.

Laura is an outstanding and professional tutor! Her lesson plan for A1/A2 is well structured and provides a solid basis for beginners in Portuguese with grammar that is actually being used in everyday life in Brazil (while I love the Pimsleur method, its Brazilian Portuguese curriculum is outdated, which I had been using prior to working with her) . She is very understanding with schedule changes and goes above and beyond to accommodate the learner to review and understand the material before progressing on to the next topic. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to begin their journey learning Portuguese, she will set you up for success! I look forward to working with her again when I return from my trip and continue learning Portuguese! Obrigado!
