Hello, I am from Las Vegas, Nevada USA. I graduated from Virginia Tech University. I am a Retired U.S. Army Soldier with 20 years of Military Service. I worked as a Construction Safety Manager for First Solar Inc. and Currently I do Maritime Security (Anti-Piracy, Anti-Drugs & Stowaways) on Container Ships for MSC. I was also an English Advisor/Mentor for Foreign Military units for over 10 years and I can honestly say these have been the best jobs I have ever had! I traveled the world and visited a lot of countries throughout my life. I have had so many great successful students reach both their personal and professional goals through English learning. I believe that meeting the needs of my students is a very crucial part of effective learning. In our lessons, we will focus largely on conversation while improving your vocabulary, pronunciation and confidence. My goal is to provide you with that language environment and help your journey be a successful one. I focus on the 3 fundamentals of English learning (Speaking, Listening and Reading). I use ESL and IELTS for topic discussions to help in speaking. I just finished my lesson and it was absolutely fantastic! My teacher gave me so many useful tips, not only for improving my English, but also for learning in general and even for life. Taking English lessons with Emerson on italki is truly enjoyable. Most of the time, I don’t even realize how quickly the lesson flies by.
