Eugenia is able to tailor the lesson to the specific needs of each student. In my case, I wish to practice Italian through natural dialogue. That is, the give and take of one-on-one conversation regarding daily life, real world situations, and cultural and historical events. Within this scope I am encouraged to tell a story, ask questions, or defend a position. It forces me to think in Italian, which is key to making improvements. My mistakes, whether usage or pronunciation, are corrected in real time. The classroom atmosphere is always friendly, fun, courteous, and professional. I feel fortunate to have been matched with Eugenia. Highly recommended.

I’ve been studying Italian with Eugenia for a while. Outside of class, I don’t have opportunities to practice Italian, but I was thrilled with my results on my recent visit to Italy. I could understand a lot— lol— even when eavesdropping! I was successfully able to telephone for taxis, make reservations, order food and ask questions about the menu, ask for directions, and have some friendly, basic conversations. A fun surprise, though, was how much I could read and comprehend at the sights we visited.
