Nicolas Cardoso 🏅🏆

I would like to write this review to express how wonderful of a professor and person Nico is. I had the great fortune of connecting with Nico on Italki in October 2022. Little did I know how life changing the Spanish learning experience would be with Nico on my side. From the beginning, Nico has supported me in helping me achieve my goals and aspirations, by utilizing different teaching methods and techniques, most notably the presentation and discussion of different topics during our lessons. In that way, I have been able to discuss various themes, and improve my vocabulary in the process. Nico's kindhearted nature makes it a space where there is no hesitation to practice the language, in whatever level you may be, and to make and learn from your mistakes. Most importantly, my time learning with Nico thus far has made me realize what an overall wonderful person Nico is. I am fortunate enough to call him a close friend, and hope to continue doing so for years to come. Thank you Nico!!

Nicolás is the epitome of “re buena onda” (literally, very good vibes), and he is truthfully one of the easiest people to talk to that I’ve ever met. There is no awkward “getting to know you” period with Nicolás. Very shortly into my first lesson, we were chatting like old friends. Nicolás is extremely attentive and able to listen, beyond any errors you may make, to hear what it is you WANT to say. He is then able to help you to find the right words to fill in the cracks. Additionally, Nicolás is incredibly motivating—seamlessly fluctuating between teacher, conversation partner and life coach throughout the course of the lesson. Learning a language can, at times, feel difficult and even frustrating. Nicolás’ personality creates a classroom culture devoid of those feelings. I can truthfully say that I look forward to my lessons with Nicolás. I would recommend him (and have) to any friend looking to learn Rioplatenese Spanish! Thank you, Nicolás!

Nicolas is an incredible tutor with a seamless ability to communicate and a sincerely welcoming classroom. Learning a language is trying; it is to turn back the clock and develop the basic element of expression all over again. With this almost always comes a fear of judgment, feelings of perpetual discouragement, and the need for an immeasurable amount of patience. These challenges need to be treated importantly, and that is what makes Nicolas so special. He is an intelligent, born communicator with an understanding of your circumstances and an innate ability to accommodate them. Your comfortability is valuable to him, and his patience and courtesy demonstrate that. He is a quick, alert, and passionate learner who will show both your opinions and situation genuine, uninterrupted respect. Every destination along this journey is meaningful, and you will remember it forever. Making Nicolas’ classroom your next is a really, really good idea!

Nico is definitely a born tutor. He creates a positive, relaxed environment to speak Spanish and make mistakes along the way. He is genuinely interested in you and wants to help you grow. At the same time he is open to feedback and is more than willing to accommodate to the needs of the student. On top of that he is knowledgeable, passionate, and honest which really aids the conversation. Highly recommended!
