I have just watched a video about someone who were swimming in a creek, but then swept away by flood. All the things happened all of a sudden, they tried to get back to the bank but failed. I was so sad to hear about these kind of accidents due to extreme weather. In fact, many bad things could be completely avoided if they respected the nature. Thid reminds me of the trend of climbing the Everest many years ago. At that time, many people who have climbed some montains dreamed to climb the Everest. Someone prepared really well before climbing, but a few people just thought that courage could defeat anything including the nature. As a consequence, only the ones who respected the nature and prepared well succeeded. These who looked down on the nature even lost their lives.

Here’s a rewritten version that keeps the tone human and helpful, while giving more practical value for language learners: Are Accents Making Conference Discussions Hard to Follow? In international conferences, you may hear a wide variety of English accents—from British and American to Indian, Nigerian, Australian, and many more. While this diversity is enriching, it can sometimes make important points harder to catch, especially in fast-paced discussions. Struggling with unfamiliar accents isn’t about a lack of skill—it’s simply that our ears and brains are tuned to the sounds we hear most often. When a speaker uses different vowel shapes, speaks faster than you expect, or uses unfamiliar rhythm patterns, it can take an extra moment to understand. In professional settings, this can lead to missing details or feeling hesitant to participate. Here are a few practical steps you can take: Listen to a range of accents regularly — interviews, podcasts, and conference recordings can help your ear adapt. Focus on key words, not every word — this helps you keep up with the main message. Note common pronunciation patterns in specific accents you hear in your field. Over time, your brain will build new “listening maps,” making it much easier to follow any speaker. Which English accents do you find most challenging in professional contexts? Share your experience—your tips could help others too.
