Well, it is quite normal at the beginning to have think before you speak. I went through this stage for a good six months before the language began to flow. Just be patient and learn these things bit by bit. Once you master these forms the rest is easy. Take your time. By the way, the Germans appreciate people who think. They are a thinking people themselves.

I think it's quite normal that you have to think before speaking for a good while :) I have the same 'problem' with polish. Practice is the only solution! :) You have to train your brain.
