Heisann, Maren her, I have lived and worked as a teacher back and forth from Oslo to Costa Rica for a long time! I grew up in Porsgrunn, where we speak Bokmål dialect, and speak English and Spanish fluently. I always like to try new things and stay active, and love to get to know new people, learn about new cultures and traditions! Among some interest of mine, we have: surfing, art, interior design, music, dance, food, yoga, meditation, languages, hikes and m.m. My educational background consists of a bachelor’s degree in teaching from UIO, (so I will try to explain grammar in the best way) and market economy from BI. I always try and show up with a lot of energy and motivation! As I learned Spanish as an adult, I understand the journey of learning a new language, the fear of speaking out loud and saying anything wrong. But I also know that that is the way to learn, from our mistakes. I will make you feel comfortable right away, I am very outgoing, and I always try and find common ground so we can get to know each other! I tend to be a bit humorous when it comes to understanding and looking at not only Norwegian but cultural characteristics in general. Since I have a good ear for languages and after living abroad for a long time, I can help you create bridges and memorize words, phrases, and sentences based on cultural similarities. Lessons 55 min. Maren is an amazing and creative tutor. She starts with my particular interests in the language and culture of Norway and builds our discussions and lessons from that. I am very motivated to work with her. I no longer feel stuck in low-gear. I wholeheartedly recommend her teaching ability.

Such a sweet woman! Took the time to really figure out where I should start and what goals I had. Lots of resources to pull from to really round out an education plan as well as provide examples about each of the resources and methods she uses.
