With degrees in International Business and International Relations and almost a decade of experience living across Europe, Asia and Latin America, visiting over 40 countries in the process, I blend language learning with global perspectives.

In our lessons, My aim is for you to talk for around 70% of the time, and me for 30% of the time. This is the best way to learn a new language, according to scientific research!
It's important for me to have fun, as well as productive lessons. To do this, the lessons start with a short 'free conversation' for 5–10 minutes to check your English 'for daily life'. Then, a 'warm-up game' for around 10 minutes, which usually focus on 'collocations' - which are crucial to speaking English more naturally.
After that, we will move on to the main part of the lesson, whether that be more structured conversation practice, reading and discussing articles, test preparation, or working with a textbook.

It’s been over 2 years now that I’ve been having lessons with Stephen. After moving to the U.S., I realized how much I needed regular English practice, and I’ve been lucky to learn from him. Stephen is a tremendous teacher - a few years ago I sought advice on a tricky Business English question from several professional teachers, but Stephen was the only one competent to clarify that. I’ve been taking English classes with Stephen for almost two years, and the improvement in my level has been huge.
What I appreciate most about his classes is that they are very practical and focused on real communication. He quickly identifies your weaknesses and helps you work on them in a very natural way during the conversations. The sessions are always engaging and never feel repetitive.
