Cochonnet, le petit cochon, a décidé que, pour le carnaval, il serait un loup. Évidemment, il n'en a parlé ni à ses parents ni à ses frères.
Le matin, sitôt éveillé, il s'est précipité dans le grenier, il a fouillé dans toutes les malles et a fini par être prêt. Vers midi, quand sa maman l'a appelé pour déjeuner, il a surgi dans la salle en poussant des hurlements féroces. La maman s'est évanouie, le père a pris son fusil, mais Cochonnet a éclaté d’un tel rire que tout le monde l’a reconnu.

Basic French Lesson: Au marché (at the market)

The largest diamond found in more than a century has been unearthed at a mine in Botswana, and the country's president showed off the fist-sized stone to the world on August 22.

The Botswana government says the huge 2,492-carat diamond is the second-biggest ever discovered in a mine. It's the biggest diamond found since 1905.

The diamond was presented to the world at the office of Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi. It weighs about half a kilogram and Masisi was one of the first to hold it.

Masisi said: "I am lucky to have seen it in my time." He said "wow" before calling government officials over to take a closer look.

Officials said it was too early to value the stone or decide how it would be sold. Another smaller diamond from the same mine in Botswana was sold for $63 million in 2016, a record for a rough gem.

Naseem Lahri, Botswana managing director for Lucara, the Canadian mining company that found the diamond, added: "I am very proud. It is a product of Botswana."

Lucara said in a statement that it recovered the "exceptional" rough diamond from its Karowe Mine in central Botswana. Lucara said it was a "high-quality" stone and was found intact.

It was located using X-ray technology designed to find large, high-value diamonds.

The weight would make it the largest diamond found in 119 years and the second-largest ever dug out of a mine after the Cullinan Diamond that was discovered in South Africa in 1905.

The famous Cullinan was 3,106 carats and was cut into gems, some of which form part of the British Crown Jewels.

Botswana, a country of 2.6 million people in southern Africa, is the second-biggest producer of natural diamonds behind Russia and has unearthed all of the world's biggest stones in recent years.

At what age do we become "old?"

This is a question a team of European researchers has been asking.

The age at which people think old age begins has moved in time, according to a new study.

Many people also like to believe they haven't yet reached old age, even as they get older.

The research team looked at data from the German Ageing Survey, which included more than 14,000 participants.

The participants were born between 1911 and 1974, and answered survey questions over a 25-year period between 1996 and 2021.

They were aged between 40 and 85 when they began answering the questions, and more participants joined the survey in time.

People were asked a lot of questions, including: "At what age would you describe someone as old?"

The researchers found that when people born in 1911 got to the age of 65, they thought old age began at 71.

But when those who were born in 1956 got to 65, they thought old age began at 74, on average.

However, the study also found that people's perceptions of old age changed as they got older.

At the age of 64, the average participant said old age began at about 75. But at the age of 74, the average participant said old age began at about 76.

Study author Markus Wettstein said he wasn't sure if this meant people had a positive or negative view of old age.

Better health care and increased life expectancy in recent years may also have affected people's perceptions, he said.
