Storia dell’osteria del sole di Bologna

L’Italia è un Paese famoso soprattutto per la sua cucina e la sua arte ma in pochi conoscono la storia dell’Osteria del sole. È il 1465 e a Bologna già si vocifera che presto apriranno una nuova osteria nel centro della città.  La sua storia quindi risale al 1465, quando venne fondata come locanda per i viaggiatori in transito. Nel corso dei secoli, è diventata una tappa obbligata per chi visita la città di Bologna, attirando turisti e locali con la sua tradizione e l'atmosfera accogliente.


Un’osteria amata dagli scrittori

A vicolo Ranocchi, tra via Orefici e Pescherie Vecchie, nella parte più suggestiva della città, viene aperta quindi l’osteria del sole e funziona già da subito  a pieno regime: diventa ben presto un’osteria importante e conosciuta a tal punto che nel 1712 Giuseppe Maria Mitelli nel gioco delle osterie di Bologna (molto simile al famoso gioco dell’oca) raffigura per l’appunto molte osterie (59 osterie in tutto) e quella  del Sole occupa la penultima casella.
Nel 1879, è il poeta italiano Giovanni Pascoli, che viene arrestato proprio dentro l’Osteria del Sole con l’accusa di aver aderito alle idee socialiste. Nel corso degli anni, l'Osteria del Sole è diventata una meta culturale, ospitando artisti e scrittori famosi come Giosuè Carducci, Ugo Foscolo, e Giorgio Bassani. La sua fama è cresciuta anche grazie alla sua presenza in alcune opere letterarie come il romanzo "Il Barone Rampante" di Italo Calvino. L'osteria ha anche una lunga tradizione di accogliere i pellegrini in cammino verso Santiago di Compostela. Nel Medioevo infatti era una delle tappe obbligate per i pellegrini che attraversavano l’Appenino.

Gli attuali gestori sono la famiglia Spolaore e la storia di come loro zio sia entrato in possesso dell’osteria è altrettanto interessante e curiosa:  nel 1940 lo zio Aldo Canazza, è ciclista affermato e arriva a Bologna per correre la gara chiamata “cronometro” nei Giardini Margherita.
