I'm an adult but I feel like a baby. I don't have any social skills or any skills. Having to go to interviews and interact with coworkers sounds like a nightmare. I can't do this adult thing. I can't function in this --- world. I don't know what to do. I can't get help because it's too scary to speak about my problems with a stranger. I feel like I wasn't meant to be in this world.

LA FARMACIA PARIS.

Durante la década de los 40, en la Ciudad de México, la gente solía acudir a los boticarios cuando se sentía mal o padecía de algún tipo de enfermedad. Ahora, a estas personas se les conoce como "farmacéuticos", y pese a que las recetas médicas han cambiado bastante desde aquellos días, siempre queda un pedazo de nostalgia en las farmacias clásicas, sobre todo, en las del Centro Histórico.

Tal es el caso de la Farmacia París, un establecimiento que se ubica en lo que fuera un noviciado para monjes agustinos de la Nueva España. El lugar abre sus puertas el 28 de febrero de 1944, con la misión de atender a los vecinos que buscaban curar sus males.

Se trata de una empresa que fue fundada por el químico farmacéutico Ignacio Merino Martínez, quien rentó el local que se encontraba disponible en la esquina donde se juntan las calles de 5 de febrero y República de El Salvador. Cabe mencionar, que esta botica comenzó sus jornadas con solamente cinco empleados, y actualmente son más de 600 los que atienden día con día a los más de 20 mil de capitalinos los 365 días del año.

Aquellos que solían visitar asiduamente la botica podrán dar fe de que era de esos lugares que olían a medicina. 

Jarabes y ungüentos se vendían para sanar heridas, desvanecer verrugas o disipar el dolor. Cabe mencionar, que pese a que las boticas son casi coetáneas al inicio de la Nueva España, no se tiene registro de la venta de antibióticos, pues todavía no existían leyes sobre salud pública.

Para cuando los antibióticos se introdujeron en la vida cotidiana de la CDMX, la Farmacia París fue uno de los principales lugares que los abastecía. Es importante mencionar, que en 1950, una gran parte del Centro Histórico quedó más de un metro bajo las aguas de una terrible inundación. No obstante, Don Ignacio Merino Martínez se dio a la tarea de erigir de nuevo la farmacia, pues no podía concebir ni un día sin atender a sus clientes.
