Dinner Time and Bedtime | Spoken Malayalam #073
説明
The day ends the same way in every home: dinner, clearing up, locking up, lights off and a story for the little ones. English speakers often look for a word-for-word "Good night", and find the formal ശുഭരാത്രി (shubharaathri), which sounds like a greeting card. Kerala families mostly just say "good night" in English, or something warmer and more practical: ഉറങ്ങിക്കോ (urangikko) = off to sleep now.
In this episode:
• Calling everyone to dinner
• Clearing up
• Locking up
• Lights and bedtime
• Story time
• An invented scene: good night, anu
• Language bridge
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
