خانواده‌م توی استانبول زندگی می‌کنن.

آراد:
چند نفر هستین؟

نیلوفر:
ما پنج نفریم.

آراد:
خواهر یا برادر هم داری؟

نیلوفر:
آره، یه خواهر کوچیک‌تر دارم.

آراد:
چند سالشه؟

نیلوفر:
هجده سالشه.

آراد:
خیلی خوبه. با هم صمیمی هستین؟

نیلوفر:
آره، خیلی. تقریباً هر روز با هم حرف می‌زنیم.

آراد:
من یه برادر بزرگ‌تر دارم.

نیلوفر:
واقعاً؟ چند سال ازت بزرگ‌تره؟

آراد:
سه سال.

نیلوفر:
رابطه‌تون چطوره؟

آراد:
خیلی خوبه. همیشه کمکم می‌کنه.

نیلوفر:
خوش به حالت.

آراد:
تو چند وقت یه بار خانواده‌ت رو می‌بینی؟

نیلوفر:
معمولاً هر چند ماه یه بار.

آراد:
حتماً دلت براشون تنگ می‌شه.

نیلوفر:
آره، مخصوصاً برای خواهرم.

English Translation

Arad:
Niloufar, where does your family live now?

Niloufar:
My family lives in Istanbul.

Arad:
How many people are in your family?

Niloufar:
There are five of us.

Arad:
Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Niloufar:
Yeah, I have a younger sister.

Arad:
How old is she?

Niloufar:
She's eighteen.

Arad:
That's nice. Are you close?

Niloufar:
Yeah, very. We talk almost every day.

Arad:
I have an older brother.

Niloufar:
Really? How much older is he?

Arad:
Three years.

Niloufar:
How is your relationship?

Arad:
Very good. He always helps me.

Niloufar:
Lucky you.

Arad:
How often do you see your family?

Niloufar:
Usually every few months.

Arad:
You must miss them.

Niloufar:
Yeah, especially my sister.

If you want to achieve a band score six in IELTS you must show the ability to talk openly and freely. You are allowed to make mistakes and are not expected to speak perfect English. It is OK to hesitate, repeat yourself, or correct yourself if you think you have made a mistake. You will be able to use a range of connecting words.

Let’s look at those three skills in detail. First, let’s consider connecting words. connecting words are used to organize thoughts into words. For example, when we speak, we might say “Well, I really like to go swimming. But…I’m not very good at it. I mean, I like swimming but… I’d really like to have lessons. What connecting words did I use? Listen again: “Well, I really like to go swimming. But…I’m not very good at it. I mean, I like swimming but… You know, I’d really like to have lessons.” 
Did you hear the words well, however, and you know? These are connecting words. So, in your IELTS speaking, be sure to use connecting words. I have to admit, connecting words are not always used, because students don’t know too many.  To be honest, I think all students should practice using them. I’ve always believed that connecting words are a fantastic way to make sure you get a good speaking score in IELTS.
