The Logic of Chinese: "车" (chē)
説明
In Chinese, almost everything with wheels is called a "Chē." By adding a descriptive word in front of "Chē," you get a specific vehicle. It's so intuitive!
1. Power Source (动力来源)
火车 (Train / huǒchē): 火 (fire) + 车 = A fire-powered vehicle (originally steam engines).
汽车 (Car / qìchē): 汽 (gas/vapor) + 车 = A gas-powered vehicle.
电动车 (E-bike / diàndòngchē): 电动 (electric) + 车 = An electric vehicle.
2. Usage & Size (用途与大小)
公交车 (Bus / gōngjiāochē): 公交 (public transport) + 车 = A public transport vehicle.
卡车 (Truck / kǎchē): 卡 (transliteration of "Car/Cargo") + 车 = A cargo-carrying truck.
摩托车 (Motorcycle / mótuōchē): 摩托 (motor) + 车 = A motorized vehicle.
