Let's talk today about how to give feedback at work, especially if you use English as a second language in the workplace and are not a native English speaker.

Giving feedback to your colleagues, your staff, and your managers, is an essential part of a great team. However, so few people actually do it! We often think of feedback as a scary thing that is reserved for end of year performance reviews and appraisals. However, the best teams in the world make both negative and positive feedback a key part of their company culture.

Today we’re going to hear some tips and ideas for how to give feedback to your colleagues. We’ll hear some great natural and native sounding vocabulary that we can use to do this, and then we’ll finish off with some challenges for you. 안녕하세요, 여러분! 오늘 팟캐스트에서는 한국어에서 자주 쓰이지만 학습자들에겐 생소할 수 있는 표현
[ -가지고]에 대해 이야기해 보려고 해요. 
우리가 흔히 아는 [그래서, -기 때문에, 왜냐하면] 등의 여러 표현 외에도, 일상 대화에서 [-가지고]라는 표현을 굉장히 많이 사용해요.
영어로는 ‘because’ 나 ‘since’의 의미로 이해하면 돼요.

우선, [-가지고]는 약간 구어체적인 느낌을 주는데요, 특히 친구들끼리 편하게 대화할 때 자주 쓰여요. 
예를 들어, “아, 늦잠 자가지고 수업에 늦었어”라고 하면 “늦잠 자서 수업에 늦었어”와 비슷한 의미지만, 좀 더 캐주얼하게 들리죠.

예문으로 볼까요?
"배가 너무 고파가지고 편의점에서 뭐 좀 샀어."

여기서 -가지고는 "너무 배고파서"의 뜻이에요. 이렇게 가볍게 이유를 덧붙이는 느낌이죠.

"버스를 놓쳐가지고 학교에 걸어갔어."

“버스를 놓쳐서”라고 할 수도 있지만, [-가지고]를 쓰면 좀 더 말하는 사람의 불만스러운 느낌이 잘 살아요.

마찬가지로,
"길이 막혀가지고 늦었어."

길이 막혀서 늦었어 대신, 더 원어민스러운 느낌이 들죠.
