We had a special dinner on this Valentine's day. That was Japanese beef steak!  Japanese beef steak is generally very expensive. Its taste is very good! Today I'm going to talk about Japanese beef steak.

先日、バレンタインデーの日に、和牛のステーキ肉を買って、家で焼いて食べました。　和牛は日本国内で育てられた牛の肉のことです。和牛の特徴は「サシ」と呼ばれる脂身が肉の赤身に網目のように入っていることです。「霜降り」とも言います。　「サシ」が入っている肉はとてもやわらかくて、おいしいです。肉の部位と「サシ」の状態で和牛の値段は決まってくるのですが、一般的に和牛は高いです。　私が買ったのは１枚　２６００円の　ステーキ用のロース肉です。1枚は180～200グラムぐらいだったと思います。２人分のステーキ肉２枚で、税込み５２００円！ふだん、こんなに高いお肉は食べませんが、今回はクレジットカードのたまったポイントを使って買いました。　3月末で、カードのポイント有効期限が切れるので、その前に、たまったポイントでちょっと贅沢をすることにしたんです。
それでも、レストランで神戸牛を食べることを思えば安いものです。
あるレストランでは、一番安いランチコースで、一人前６４００円。内容は　野菜のポタージュ、サラダ、焼き野菜３－５品、神戸牛赤身ステーキ１２０ｇ、パン、コーヒーです。コースなのでお得ではありますが、120グラムのお肉ってホントに小さいです。アメリカのステーキ6オンスが170グラムぐらいなので、それとくらべてもさらに小さいです。
一番高いディナーコースで、その店では１９８００円。内容は　前菜、野菜のポタージュ、サラダ、焼き野菜３－５品、極上神戸牛ステーキ、パン、コーヒーです。　牛肉は選べるようで、リブロースなら２２０グラム、サーロインなら１８０グラム、フィレなら１３０グラムとメニューに書いてあります。目の前で、鉄板で焼いてくれるサービスも含まれているので、単純に肉の大きさだけで比べることはできませんが、やはり高いです。もっと高い店もたぶんあると思います。
たまに、そんな贅沢をするのもいいかもしれませんが、私はお肉屋さんでいいお肉を買ってきて、うちで調理して食べるのがいいと思います。　最近はネットで簡単に、「おいしいステーキの焼き方」を調べることもできます。　レシピ通りに肉を焼くと、いい匂いが部屋中に広がります。　焼きあがった肉に　塩や　ステーキソース、あるいは　わさびをつけて食べるとおいしいです。　ほんとうに満足しました。　ごちそうさまでした。
