説明
The ending -ed is written the same way on thousands of verbs, but in your variety it has three sounds: a T in "worked", a D in "played", and a short "id" syllable in "wanted". Many Indian speakers treat it differently. In careful or read speech some give "-ed" a full syllable where you would not expect it, so "ask-ed" has two beats. What you will learn: • The three sounds of -ED and the indian tendencies • The full "-ED": hearing the extra beat • The clear T or D: ordinary but crisp • When the -ED disappears • Time words that confirm the tense • Irregular pasts with full spelling vowels • The -ED that isn'T past • Practice: decode the sentence • Listening strategies • Self-check questions to test your ear Level: B1–B2. Self-study: listen, then take the quizzes. Audio voiced with AI from an original script by Dr. Rashmi R Nair.
