Les Villain
Locked in battle, lost by time. What's lost in this sentence? Literal lost ( by time)?

This is a perfect example of why context is so important! Great question Les Villain! This statement could imply a few things: Maybe it's referring to a forgotten conflict. Whether a conflict (or battle) was literal or metaphorical, what once seemed significant no longer has that much meaning due to the passing of time. Or it could be talking about an endless struggle with something or someone. The fight continues...you're locked in. But it's no longer relevant with the passing of time. Perhaps it could mean that even the most intense struggles eventually fade as time moves on. This is my favorite thought. I'd be interested to know if you found this in a book or article. Again, great question. I hope this helps!

I'd say it means something like 'forgotten by time'.
