"There used to be 5 people in my team. Now there are only 3". Is "IN my team" acceptable in this sentence, in American English? I mean, the preposition "IN"?

Google n-grams shows that "on my team" is much more common than "in my team" for American English, British English and English.

I'm not American, but I think it's fine. The only alternative I can think of is  'on my team'  but I prefer 'in'.
