It means I have to spend money.

Dating is the getting to know phase in a relationship.  It is a means or a way to see if you

really like each other before you progress to the next phase and eventually becoming

a couple.

I used to think "dating" means being in a relationship with someone ("I'm dating him" means he's my boyfriend).

But now, I hear many younger people use "dating" to mean simply go out with someone...go to movies, eat dinner, spend time with friends. It now means when two people like each other but don't want to be in a serious relationship yet.

In my opinion dating is a time when two people meet for a relationship o something like, I guess.

Generally I would think "dating" as hang out with someone who is an opposite sex regardless of girlfriend or boyfriend. But most of the time people tend to refer dating to hang out with lover. So here I would define it as spending time with someone who you like to be together with, happy and comfortable to talk to..
