Put yourself in someone else's shoes.
I think what he meant was “do not waste your life living in someone else's shoes, which means do not live a pretentious life.” I do agree with what he said of course, but then again I would not blame the people who are also living a pretentious life. Take, for example, celebrities. I know some people who do not like to show their pain in public, or they don’t like sharing personal challenges. It is who they are.

Then again, while thinking about this quote, an idiom popped up in my mind. “Put yourself in someone else’s shoes”. What does this idiom mean? To imagine oneself in the situation or circumstances of another person, so as to understand or empathize with their perspective, opinion, or point of view. Before being quick to judge someone for their actions, you should always try to put yourself in their shoes.

We live in a society where it is too quick to judge and make assumptions. I will not exclude myself, sometimes I am Judgmental and then I realize it after. In my life, I was lucky to witness the life of different types of people, from the poorest to the richest, to the mentally challenged, to the people who have personality disorders. I also joined hikes where I met the adventurous ones, the carefree ones, the happy ones. I met wonderful farmers who welcomed me in their home. Then I try to imagine what is it like to live in someone else's life. What would it feel? Is it difficult? Take, for example the KPOP stars who live in a glass bowl. Imagine a life pleasing others, and a life being under public scrutiny. A lot of people judge them, throw words at them but what would it feel like to be in their shoes?
