“Don’t look up to anyone, don’t look down on anyone.”
In life, there are people that we admire and we sometimes we put them on a pedestal. I was one of those people and perhaps this is something that a lot of people can relate to. We meet extraordinary people in our lives, some great looking, some clever and we sometimes we meet the brave ones too. However, I came across a video on YouTube that we should not look up to anyone but take things and life as it is. I realized this a few years ago, that was a time when I was a fan of someone in my sport, I put him on a pedestal that my perception of him was perfection, not until of course I gradually got to know how awful his human side is. When you treat someone like a demigod, you are blinded from the truth. Technically, you do not see the truth but a subjective idea and an imagined truth.

Young people nowadays, look up to influencers, celebrities and musicians.Fans spend thousands of dollars sometimes just to see their idols, to speak to them or just take a simple photo. I think admiration is great, it is normal, we are humans. However, it is far more important to see the truth for what it is.

Looking down on people is also a very bad thing to do and perhaps it is worse than looking up to anyone. It is because as humans, we all have great potentials given the right opportunities. The sad truth is that we are not given the same opportunities in life and as a result we have differences.I think that one must not set a limit on people just because we see them less than who we are or maybe less than what we want them to be.

Just want to reply to this:" I think that one must not set a limit on people just because we see them less than who we are or maybe less than what we want them to be."

I also think one should not treat others as underdogs. They could be much better at something else than others think.

Don't make an idol for yourself to avoid being eventually disappointed and treat others like you want to be treated by them.
