Meat is murder I really think so. I've being a vegetarian for 1,5 year. But I've never liked meat. Since my childhood I was against of eating meat. And I don't understand people who say: "People always eat meat, since first days of humanity". If so, why we fight with murders, stealing, lie? People always kill each other, always rob and always tell lies. For me, eating meat = murder. But people around me say that I'm crazy "like all vegetarians". And what do you think about it? Are there any vegetarians on Italki?

Meat is Murder

I really think so. I've been a vegetarian for one and a half years. [1] But I've never liked meat. Since my childhood I have been against of eating meat. And I don't understand people who say: "People have always eaten meat, since the first days of humanity". Even if that is so, why do we oppose murder, stealing, and lying? People have always killed each other, always robbed, and always told lies.
For me, eating meat = murder. But people around me say that I'm crazy "like all vegetarians".
And what do you think about it? Are there any vegetarians on Italki?

Most of the corrections I made have to do with the fact that you needed to use the verbal tense called the "present perfect." You may wish to take a look at an English grammar which can explain the use of that tense.

[1] Alternative: a year and a half

Earlier in my life I didn't eat meat of any sort. Now I will still not eat red meat, but will eat poultry and fish. However, I do not consider that eating meat equals murder. To me, murder is the unlawful killing of a human being, especially with malice; and an animal is not, and will never be, a human being.

Plants are also living things. If it is murder to kill an animal, then why isn't it murder to kill a plant? If you say that we cannot compare plants to animals, then why can't someone else say we can't compare animals to human beings?

I eat meat because I like the taste of it and, to be honest, I don't really think about the fact that it used to be a living animal. When I do think about it, I'll admit, I feel a little guilty, but technically plants are living too...

Well to be frank, I hate the idea of eating eggs or animals.. but I also feel that I need it ...I would have thought that it is a habit but I once watched a documentary that claimed a weakness in the bones and tissues of a vegeterian man...I don't really think I'm gonna give up meat(the bad habit)...

If the vast majority of animals in the world eat meat, and kill other animals as their primary food source, then why cant humans. Would it make ok if we went out with our bare hands and did it? I'm not against eating meat or vegetarians but I do think that the world population size and the farming of animals is what makes it somewhat wrong. The majority of people go into a supermarket to do their shopping and see meat the exact same as a tin of beans.Just another food packaged up ready to cook and put on their plate.Not as a previously living thing. So, advertisement and population size are to blame in my opinion.

Roberto, we can substitute meat, that's not as hard as it looks:) And, I agree, killing animals to make clothes and cosmetics is disgusting! Why are people so cruel and selfish?
