An empty house

I pushed open the door. The house was empty but I could see that someone had been there and had just left.
It was Peter’s birthday, and my friend Mary told me there was a surprise party coming up. She said to me (or you could say "she told me") “Don’t tell him” - I nodded and went back home. I worked on my collage essay for two hours and got tired. ‘I need to get ready’ – I thought.
I took a shower and got all dressed up. Half an hour later I was done (you could say "ready" in stead of "done").

‘I think I’m going to tell him about my feelings today’. But, even I was even trying to convince myself about telling him, some a voice on my inside my head was screaming: ‘he is going to reject you’.
I arrived to at Peter’s house at 8, as Mary had told me to. That’s when I pushed open the door and felt something was wrong. There was nobody there but me, and it was obvious that somebody had been there and just left.
I gave took three steps back and then saw him. He was as handsome as I remembered.
“There is no party, I made it up… But this could be our first date”
