A Nowadays, there is a phenomenon that that countries are competing on each other to qualify for the global sporting events. For instance, up to some developed areas like London, or down to some developing countries like China, were participating to become the Olympic game hosting nation. There exists some proponents praise the hostage, while some are oppose to it. Personally, I believe the benefits of hosting outweigh the drawbacks. A successful event launched can be an extremely profitable business to the hosting country. It is no doubt that during the event, the hosting nation will become tourism hot spot. Tens of thousands of tourists can be attracted all over the globe. Not only fames could be granted, a lot of substantial financial income would be generated simultaneously. Though, some opposing people may argue that money could be spent on some livelihood matters instead of some extravagant events, or become wastage. It will become wastage, only if the costs and expenditures are not fully planned and organized. A balance profit and loss can be attained by tourists’ spending and accommodation services income. Another critical merit is that launching an international sports event could become the catalyst of city development, it could be categorized into two perspectives-‘before’ and ‘after’. Before the shortlisted city is ready for a gianormous event, couple of infrastructure like networks or transports has to be prepared. Those improvements are upgrading the country itself, especially for the developing nations. Another perspective is the post-event effects. Some claimed that after launching the sports events, different venues or stadiums would be abandoned, and thus, becoming redundancy. Indeed, there are many real life examples, like China, who solves the problem by transforming the big nest venue to be some memorial sites for visiting; likewise, some stadiums can also be utilized to host local sports event later on. By and large, the international event could bring variety of virtues towards a city or country during and after it.
