صلِّ على النبي: For a male.

Emmy: I'm so curious about the context :)

My curiosity comes from the fact that some people would ask you to say the 

prayer on prophet Mohammad "slla Allah alaih w sallam" in some occasions

that are not religious or even close! Sometimes this could be said to someone

who is about to fight, to cool them down :') I'm serious! So if you were upset

with someone and you are about to say something to them while you are angry,

they might ask you to say this prayer on the prophet: صلّي على النبي to cool you

down, and to give them a chance to explain things to you.

By the way, when it's said to a male, the verb "pray" in Arabic should be: صلِّ على النبي,

And when said to a female, it should be: صلّي على النبي.
