Why do you think people attend college or university? Most of people who go to the universities and colleges is going to chase higher education. Although many people can study in high school even in primary school, universities and colleges provides deeper and more various courses to people. For instance, one may study maths in high school, but he or she will study calculus even higher mathematics, which is far more advanced than basic maths in high school, in universities and colleges. It is not a isolated example. Modern universities and colleges open thousands of courses which people are interested in and are useful to development of society, such as astrophysics, biochemistry, government and so on. In addition to receiving knowledge, people will also gain specific qualities and abilities such as group-working, leadership, critical thinking, and logical thinking, which gives rise to great influence on people. Take my sister, Karen, as an example. She is a very normal student who always followed others' opinions and was too shy to stand in front of public. However, after attending New Mexico Tech, she became the person who leaded 3 clubs and a feminist. She said that all of her achievements were due to her experience in university. The university provided a lot of opportunities for her to make public speaking and encouraged her to face audience and came up with her own innovated ideas. It is undeniable that the experience in the university helps my sister to be a better man. It is greatly possible that it helps more people like my sisters. Thus, I certainly think that people attend colleges or universities is the desire to deep knowledge and abilities, so that they can build better themselves.
