Is it an inappropriate question? In English student's books, I often see questions such as "Do you earn a lot of money?" or "Is your house big?". I think it is inappropriate questions and it seems to me that in real life English-speaking peoples seldom ask it. Is it right for your country?

Is it an inappropriate question?

In English students' books, I often see questions such as "Do you earn a lot of money?" or "Is your house big?" I think these are inappropriate questions, and it seems to me that in real life English-speaking people seldom ask them.
Is this true for your country?

// In the UK, these questions are widely regarded as not polite and are often avoided, though there are some people or social groups who do not behave in this way. I've been told that there are parts of the USA where this kind of question is normal: one English man I know came back from San Francisco to London to work partly because, whenever he talked to a woman with a view to dating, the first question was always about how much he earned.

very well written! Personally, I think you are right; I never hear or ask such questions here myself.
