It's nearly grammatically OK. The easiest way to fix this would be to add a "with the" to the beginning of your sentence. So: "With the developing use of computers, the internet and smartphones, the number of people who are starting to work from home has increased." Or you could do something like : "The developing use of computers, the internet and smartphones has led to an increase in the number of people who are starting to work from home." Probably you can rewrite it like: The number of people who are starting to work from home has increased by the usage of computers, internet and smartphones. By: is a preposition that can be used in order to explain the way something is done. We can stop global warming by using renewable energy. The best structure will be cause consequence.
