A homie is someone you trust with your life. A friend you can count on. It is s term for someone you know well, and have been through a lot together. It originates from the idea of "home" or someone you know from childhood when you lived at your parents house. By the way, it is a tem used by people identifying with hip hop culture.

Yo! A homie is a friend you have known a long time. They are probably from your home town. This is a slang expression that I have never used.

Slang term for a close groups of friends used by Americans mostly but not always in poor regions. Homies are like a supporting group of close people with the same ideas etc.
