I am not sure what you mean by is it one big village... But there are great expanses of farms that go for miles in the south of the united states. When you say village, I think of buildings. It is not that. Homes are far apart. Homes are often not near the stores. This is why so many Americans have cars. They are a part of our culture that makes the way we live possible. And when you say village, I also think of many shops and restaurants. There are no shops any more. Just Walmart. The restaurants are fast food. Ok, this is overstating it. But how ever you been by village, it is not that.

If you look at a map of the US, you will see that it is broken up by many borders. Each border is a state. Each state is built of several counties. Each county is built of several cities. Each city is built of several districts or regions - most of these are not officially noted on maps since they are always expanding or shrinking. The districts/regions may call themselves many things, sometimes even a village, but these days, very few places in the US are actually called a village anymore.
