Book, website, references for Mandarin Chinese Slang or Idioms from Taiwan?
My girlfriend is Taiwanese. Her and her family do not speak Taiwanese Chinese, just Mandarin. I would like to learn slang or idioms from Taiwan. I have a Chinese slang book but it is for Mainland, mostly Beijing, terms. Are there any books or websites that I can use to find these words/phrases to learn? Please use English, I can not read hanzi.

well, i mean Taiwanese Mandarin and "that" Mandarin are mainly the same, so the idioms/slang in Mandarin found in Taiwan could be also found in "that" Mandarin. According to your question, you want something that only exists in Taiwan, so i thought it must be the idioms/slang of the dialects there...

they all are dialects in south of China.

I do not understand what you mean.. are you talking about Chinese dialects? I am looking for references or a list of Mandarin slang/idioms found in Taiwan. Compared to my book which has mostly Beijing and Mainland Mandarin slang/idioms.

actually.. the Taiwanese Chinese you mention are Hakka and Min Nan.
